Digital Village Digbeth

Digital Village, based in Birmingham, provides studios and platforms for a range of creatives, from photography to recording studios. Their aim is to provide a safe and guided environment with support, opportunities and access to a network of real industry mentors. I got this job purely through word of mouth as I knew marketeers working in Digbeth and they kindly mentioned my web design to the owners. I created 3 designs for the business, but this was by far my favourite. All I was provided with was a logo and a quick Zoom call with the owner.

The design is based on a festival or alternative band look book, I decided to go with a grunge colour theme with gritty images and a dark grey and CMYK purple colour theme. I helped Digital Village with their hosting and made sure the original site was removed, with only the new site appearing under the domain name provided. I used minimal programmes with DIVI builder and Slider Revolution, creating a simple anchored site with a clear call to action. An anchored sites allows users to choose menu items and instead of waiting for the page to load, they simply are taken to that section of the page quickly, improving user experience and load times.
